Korean TV (O_o)

agh, i forgot to write in this blog thing before break...umm...blah. anyway, let's see, break was alright. i didn't do much, but i did watch a lot of korean tv. ugh...korean tv...i miss my cable with mtv and food network and tlc...:'(. my brother missed espn the most. sigh...so korean tv...i'll try to describe it. well...there are 7 channels total. most of these channels are filled with 4 things.

1. news
2. dramas
3. strange game shows
4. k-pop

I will give my take on each of these 4 categories. So news, the news is fine...it's kinda hard to mess that up. Ok, DRAMAS, korean dramas are always the same thing!!!!! people in love are ALWAYS unhappy for some reason, there's always the mother in law who hates the daughter in law and screams and yells in that high pitched voice that makes anyone cringe, there's the two guys who pursue one girl or the other way around, there's always the "evil" suitor against the innocent good suitor fighting for the same person, there's always someone with a terminal illness, etc etc etc...sigh...my parents are too addicted to these dramas. i dunno...i wouldn't mind dramas so much if they weren't so predictable and had the same story line, all the time. Korean game shows are WEIRD. I don't know how to describe them...but it's not like they cut off a finger if you get the answer wrong or anything, it's just that it's kinda weird in a non-interesting way. KOrean music videos.....or what they call nowadays k-pop, it's really kinda funny. these korean guys are trying to look like thugs and have cornrows and everything and they're rapping with chains and fubu. then there are the cutesy girls who do the cutesy pop songs that just puts this expression on your face (O_o). Then there are the ballads, the typical sad love songs "Saaaaaraaang Heeeeeeh!!!!!! " haha, i'm not dissing koreans or anything, cuz hey...i am korean, but i'm just saying that it's just kinda......monotonous...but then again, i guess you can say that about american tv, with its Dawson's Creek and Britney Spears. ONe more thing, why do ALL of the korean girls look the same on korean tv??? same hair, that fold over the eyes, the clothes, the makeup, etc???
